The great Page.ly birthday iPad giveaway.

Who wants an iPad? We are giving away 2 iPads, Free page.ly service, and a couple iTunes gift cards to some lucky winners. All you have to do is particpate and tell us why you should win. Can you do it?

How to Enter

It’s easy when you play the game. We just want to know why you think you should win these cool prizes.

What do we mean by media? Cut a video, make a picture, write a blog post, use crayons, tweet, whatever.. all you have to do is make something available online where we can find it.

How to Win

  • Be creative and awesome with your media submission

How will page.ly pick a winner?

All you have to do is do the 3 things under ‘how to enter’: follow us on twitter, fan our FB page, and submit your media entry in link as a comment below…….. However.. We will judge on the following parameters:

  • Awesome’osity of your Media submission
  • Your inclination to tweet about this contest.. hashtag #pagelyiPad
  • We host WordPress websites, maybe you could tell us why you like WordPress in your submission as well
  • The Awesome’osity of your Media submission

Entry Deadline

August is our birthday month.. but we’ll give you thru the Holiday weekend because we like martini’s too. Deadline for entries is Monday September 6th 2010 at midnight Arizona time.

Legal Stuff: Must be 18yrs of age to win. Only 1 prize per winner. Allow 4-6 weeks delivery for iPad’s or iTunes gift card. Prize is non-transferable. Enter as many times as you want.   8. I like our chances too!! I’m a fan, a tweet peep and retweeted to the world!! I’m not sure how the heck to link to a specific tweet though as D. Patrick did…but I’m DBImpressions. WordPress is the BEST! My pal Shayne and his (AWESOME) wife intro’d me to it a couple of years ago when I was struggling to set up a then-lame website! WordPress took it to a whole new level of awesome with a drag-and-drop shopping cart and some serious coolness! Now that I’ve sold that business, I still use wordpress alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time to show clients sneak peeks from their sessions. Besides, its just sexy! :)

    I’m a tech writer at Inquisitr.com and the owner of Indyposted.com, the iPad would be great for quick on the go entries. I’ve been thinking about buying one for a while, but thought I would give this a try first. I cover Social Media for another big social media website, yet aside from on my phone, I rarely use social media when on the go, I just hate the small keypad on Android phones :)

  12. I think I should win because I would write awesome how-to tutorials on the iPad, and the WordPress for iPad app plus a Page.ly site would be a powerful combination. Anything that makes hosting less of a pain is a great thing, so I’m excited to see what Page.ly is doing! WordPress is one of the most powerful publishing systems on the ‘net, and I’m constantly amazed at how much you can do with it. Blogs, business sites, tumblogs … it’s so expendable and customizable, the sky’s the limit!

    3>Why I need ipad?

    I need it badly, because.. I am a tech blogger who blog at ashout.com and I’m covering all tech topic and software related post. But one important thing what i’m missing there is Apple related stuff like ipad and others.. If I have personally ipad with me then I can increase my posts and give good stuffs to my readers (My readers need ipad related stuff!). I usually don’t love to write things which I don’t personally tried. I love to engage with my social media profiles like twitter, facebook on go. I have a phone, but I don’t love to use internet with my phone (batter,keypad,screen, not able to call, I may miss important calls). If I had an ipad then can really enjoy staying in touch with social media on Go!!

    I’m a Twitter Addict person, and I love to share things I like on my twitter profile (@pkarunkumar) but one thing what I face is, when I’m out my home I always miss my social media world or Twitter :( , I really hate to leave twitter. If I had a ipad with me then I can enjoy it on move.

    WordPress?? What I can say..?? all people know why wordpress is important for blogging. Every blogger need Traffic to his blog. And SEO is one important thing we need to focus to get traffic. WordPress platform is best in the point of SEO, because we can optimize titles,URL and so many SEO related plugins are available to optimize posts. I love WordPress, and love to spread it. Beside SEO, WordPress is having good community, WP users will ready to help you if you have any problem in their forum. Also, so many Free and Premium themes are available to beautify my personal or business blog :)

    Not a coder? no problem if you are wordpress user. Because, PLUGINS,plugins,plugins will take care of that. So many plugins are available to customize/Enhance your worpress blog.

    SECURITY: WordPress is not a stagnant water, it is always flowing..flowing (Updates)

    I love WordPress in a big way – I’ve been using it for 5 years, I recommend it to all my friends who want to blog or who want a website, and I’m Lisa Sabin-Wilson’s virtual assistant, so we’re all WordPress all the time :-)

    The platform is so versatile, so easy to use, and has such a fantastic support community. I love seeing people stretch the platform, particularly at places like WordCamp Chicago (which I’ve helped organize for two years).

    Why should I win? Because I’m awesome, and WordPress is awesome, and iPads are awesome, so me using WordPress on an iPad is just a no brainer.

    I really want to win an iPad because my husband’s birthday is coming up soon and he really deserves an awesome present. He supports me in my start-up WordPress web design business by being my ‘househusband’. He does all the cooking and most of the cleaning, and he looks after our three very young children so I can concentrate on building up more business. He has made a huge sacrifice and he puts his heart and soul into taking care of us.

    If I were to win an iPad, I would give it to him in appreciation of all he has done, and continues to do for me and our kids. And then I would have to scrape him off the floor because he would certainly faint in surprise. :-)

    I would love to get an Ipad, so I could write articles while in the bed. Since my wife does sleep early, and I’m not, I could stay with her while working on my website, best of both worlds !!
    If it can’t be an Ipad, the page.ly subscription would be nice, I would transfert my website to there for sure, spending less money on hosting, so I could invest more on my website.

  38. If this doesn’t win me an iPad then maybe it’s not meant to be.

    Last night my mom called me (83 Years old) at around midnight and told me she was throwing up blood and bleeding out of her nose. I immediately woke my wife and we rushed over. As soon as I walked in I knew I had to call 911 and get her to the hospital as soon as possible.
    Minutes after arriving she had congestive heart failure and was put on a respirator. They stabilized her but she was (and is) in critical condition.

    When they finally let us in it was heartbreaking to see her that way but she was aware and awake. My wife and I stood by her side and a few minute later my mom started to try to tell me something. I could see she was getting frustrated that I wasn’t able to pick up on what it was. She even made a writing motion with her hand but when we gave her the pen and I held the little notebook she couldn’t write, it was just scribble. I could see it was really frustrating her and making her very restless.

    Ironically there was a mother and daughter with their elderly mother/grandma in the bed next to us that we knew. I noticed the teen girl had an iPad and I remembered from all the commercials and ads that it had an on-screen keyboard. I asked her to borrow it and to show me real quick how to get the keyboard up with a notebook or something.

    I brought it over to mom and one by one she pointed to the letters to spell out what she needed. It was a huge relief and felt like some kind of victory and I could see right away that she was able to relax a bit. It was the first time in my life that I can honestly say a gadget of any kind brought relief and help at a critical time.

    This morning they scoped my mom and found the source of the bleeding and were able to cauterize it and stop it from any more bleeding. She’s still in critical condition and on a respirator but at least it’s looking a little better than the overnight ours.

    I just had to share this partly to get it off my chest and to show that an device like the iPad can be more than just fun and games and sometimes can be used as a tool making it indispensable.

    My name is Ia’i. I am the only daughter of my parents and i live in American Samoa.
    I am not saying that i should win because of so and so and so but, i want to win because my daddy’s anniversary is coming up and i don’t want to sit and do nothing especially when he had lost somebody in an accident(Tsunami) I want to give him this ipad if i were to win just to keep him happy at all times other than being sad.Every body don’t want to see their parents sad right?..and if i win this prize may God bless your company and even if i don’t win this prize i’ll just pray and wish that God will always be with your company.   46. I think i should win an ipad because evertime I go to gangplank i see all my nerd friends with one and i dont have one. Being that I dont have one like them i dont fit in and it makes me sad and I want to cry. Also I think i should win because I meet Joshua Strebel before, he is a cool guy. If i win an ipad i will make a song just for you pagely, sounds like a great idea right. But I dont have no sad sorries or lies about why i need one or would like one. But I do believe it will help me in alot of things and would give me a mobile way to stay in touch with all my friends and fans.

I am an artist & run our local council for the arts and really trying to instill into the kids how important art is & find their creative side!
