This is a big deal.
In our relentless pursuit to provide our customers with the best WordPress Hosting solution available and continuing our commitment to security and performance we have partnered with Dynect to handle our current and future DNS services.

Dynect is a company after our own heart. A scrappy upstart (many years ago) that redefined their industry and have since grown to be the leader in their field. With such clients as 37signals, Twitter, Squarespace, and Zappos, Dynect is our choice for managing DNS for our growing customer base. Page.ly is in good company.
This move has all sorts of advantages for our customers and us, mainly rock-solid DNS for faster and more responsive domain lookups and allows page.ly to stay focused on the WordPress performance and security side of things. Consider the bar raised.
We’ll be making the transition over the next few days/week to Dynect. Customers should not notice anything (except baller DNS services) as it will all happen behind the scenes.

Josh – can you comment on what your thoughts are on the potential for .ly domains being shut off due to political unrest in Libya and how that could impact Page.ly’s site and your subscribers?
See this article for reference:

I think it’d be good to see a post on this in particular, as this could be a big issue for folks with .ly domains.
